Privacy notice
This notice explains how Bioseq Ltd handles information you send through the test-case form, or directly by email, and in any correspondence that follows.
Who we are
Bioseq Ltd is the data controller. We are registered in England and Wales, company number 17294821. You can contact us at martin@bioseq.io, and we will give a postal address on request. We have not appointed a data protection officer and are not required to.
What we collect
Your name, organisation and work email. The case information you choose to give us, including any technical detail you enter in the optional fields or paste into the form. Anything you send us afterwards about the case.
Giving us this information is voluntary. There is no legal or contractual obligation to provide it. If you leave things out we may not be able to assess the case, and we will tell you what is missing.
Please do not send special category personal data.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry. To review the available information and identify any further evidence needed. To carry out an assessment of your case. To evaluate how Bioseq performs against that case.
Our lawful basis
We rely on our legitimate interests, and on taking steps at your request before entering into an agreement.
Our legitimate interests are replying to business enquiries sent to us, and testing and improving the Bioseq platform against real cases. We have weighed these against your interests and rights, and we limit what we collect, who can see it, and how long we keep it accordingly.
Who we share it with
The form on this website is provided by Netlify, which receives and stores submissions on our behalf and sends us a copy by email. Netlify holds each submission until we delete it. Our email provider also holds our correspondence with you.
Within Bioseq, access is limited to the people responsible for assessing and administering the case.
We do not publish your information, disclose it to other test-round participants, add it to Bioseq's reusable evidence corpus, or use it to train a general model, without your written permission.
Where it is held
Our form provider is based in the United States, so your submission may be stored outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, the transfer is made under the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for details of the safeguards at martin@bioseq.io.
How long we keep it
Discovery cases receive an assessment preview within two days. If the available information or scientific evidence is insufficient, the response explains what is missing.
If a case closes without further assessment work, we delete the submission from the form provider and from our records within 30 days of notifying you.
When assessment work begins, we move the information into the working environment for that case and delete it from the form provider. After that, how long we keep it is governed by the terms we agree with you.
We delete stored submissions from the form provider as a routine, and not only when a case closes.
Automated decision-making
We do not make decisions about you by automated means alone. Bioseq applies explicit rules to technical evidence about materials and recovery routes. It does not profile people, and no assessment produces a legal or similarly significant effect on any individual.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to limit how we use it.
You have the right to object to our use of your personal information at any time, because we rely on legitimate interests. If you object, we will stop unless we can show compelling grounds that override your interests. To object, email martin@bioseq.io.
Supporting files and confidential information
The form does not accept file uploads. If you have supporting files or a data sheet, send them directly to martin@bioseq.io.
Complaints
Please contact us first at martin@bioseq.io and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to the Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.
Changes
We may update this notice as the test round and its service providers change. The current version appears on this page with the date it was last updated.
